I’ve scheduled this post to appear here at 8.30 on Monday morning.
All being well, IJ will be on her way to school and joining her friends in the playground. I’ll be somewhere on the Underground heading into Central London for the first day of my new job.
But that’s the thing with scheduled posts. You write them in advance and select the time they’ll be published. If, between writing this and the time it appears on my blog, something alarming, unexpected or vaguely interesting happens, it won’t appear here.
So it could be the case that something incredibly dramatic has happened during the last 24 hours.
I could have dined out with the ‘boys’ from Take That last night after meeting them on my train journey south. We could have struck up a conversation when I accidentally spilt coffee on my jacket and they offered me one of theirs. We could have met later in the evening when I was returning said jacket. They could have invited me to join their table and we then bonded over 80s nostalgia.
It is also possible that after our evening they arranged for their driver to collect me to take me to work this morning.
So, in fact, I might not be on the Underground right now at all.
Or it could simply be that IJ headed off to school and I took the tube to work. But that would be a dull, un-engaging and incredibly short blog post.
And who wants that on a Monday morning?
Have a great week!

You do have a vivid imagination but that did make me smile!
Hope everything went well with your new job: I’m nervous for you so heaven knows how you’re feeling xx
Thanks Trish! I was nervous too but it all turned out absolutely fine! Always good to get that first day of a new job out of the way though. xx
This post was published exactly on schedule – well done. I hope your first day at work went well. xxx
Thanks Rachel. That was a relief to read whilst I was on the tube. And my first day was great! xxx
Say hello to Gary Barlow for me x
I did. He says hello back. x
Oh well done on the new job – hadn’t seen your previous post. That’s fantastic! What better company to work for? Even better than dinner with Gary Barlow!
Many thanks indeed. Yes, I can say that it is even more exciting than dinner with Gary Barlow!
Just catching up. How exciting and very well done.
Many thanks Expat Mum!
Now if you have in fact been dining with Take That and driven around by their driver please please tell me that you also now have Gary’s mobile number of speed dial, tickets to see their next concert and a staring role in their next video.
If of course this didn’t happen, I hope the first day in your new job went really well
X
*ahem* Garry has asked me not to give his number out. Otherwise I would you understand. And thank you, yes, it went really well. Very happy and a little bit relieved
How exciting!! I have still not got a handle on the Google Plus thing, My daughter does it and is it like another way of blogging? I notice sometimes I get to other blogs through Google PLus. Anyway how very cool that all your hard work has paid off – good on you!
Thanks Jody. Google+ is a lot of things really – a source of information, a way of sharing, a social network, a way of video conferencing. There are so many different features than really you can tailor it to what you want. And yes, you can promote blog posts on Google+ too and share others’ posts. Many thanks on the job congrats!
Good luck with your first day – I hope it’s going well. It sounds so exciting.
Thanks Ellen. The first week has been great. Steep learning curve but all very very exciting!
