All is well

Boat on the water at Mudeford

We discovered the essential prerequisites for a period of much needed rest and relaxation this week: sand, sea air and dodgy Internet access.

Collecting sea water on the beach in Mudeford

Having spent a week  just outside the New Forest, we’re both relaxed, rejuvenated and feeling much better for the time spent outdoors and offline with close family.

Building sandcastles on the beach

Possibly for the first time ever, the fact that the holiday park’s high speed Internet access was anything but turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it meant logging off, switching off and forgetting it all.

Giant turtle at Bournemouth Aquarium

We’ve swam, read, collected shells, built sandcastles and explored the local area, including the aquarium in Bournemouth with its sharks and giant turtles, and the stunning quay and beach in Mudeford.

And with a view as relaxing as this, it’s impossible not to unwind.

We’ve bathed in the sunshine and run through the rain. And the end result is that all is well.

Thanks Ali. Yes, it was great. It’s been quite a few years since we visited the New Forest. I’d forgotten how beautiful it is. x

I was wondering why it had been so quiet on Twitter. And I thought that you’d seen the turtle in the sea for a minute! Glad to hear you’be having a fab time x

Looks amazing and incredibly relaxing. Isn’t it nice when we’re forced to go cold turkey on social media/internet access?!

There are so many benefits to being forced to go cold turkey on social media and internet access. I’m going to log off more often!

Looks gorgeous. However with Ruby entering the terrible twos, I would add ‘childcare’ to that list! Glad you’re having fun… sorry not to have been in touch for so long. Self imposed internet ban to enjoy summer with girls.

Ah. The terrible twos. She’s got there quickly. I remember when Ruby was born! A self-imposed internet ban sounds good to me. I’m spending a lot less time online this summer. Much better to enjoy it offline and outdoors, especially while the weather is good.
