I love photo apps. There is so much you can do with just a very simple photo.
These are my ‘cloud thought bubbles’ on Instagram.
On Pixelromatic you can add rain.
Using iDarkroom you can add a little extra sparkle.
And in Tadaa you can turn the sky red.
Or brown.
Or make it look slightly radioactive.
And in Halftone you can turn it into a comic and add a bolt of lightning.
This week’s Gallery theme is: Sky. Visit Tara’s blog for more entries.

Hee hee great use of effects here Rosie the last one looks like a comic book still. The first one is my fav though, just a simple fluffy cloud set against a beautiful blue sky x
Yes, I think I like the first one best too. You can’t beat a beautiful blue sky x
Brilliant, I can never decide what photo effects to use when I start editing!
Same here! There are just too many to choose from.
I am now about to download all those apps! Fab pictures..
There are probably plenty more too. Most of these are free. I think the iDarkroom app is about 69p.
I like your take on the theme with those thought bubble clouds especially the ones against a flowery sky.
Thanks Erica. I love the flowery sky one too.
Fantastic post. Some of my best pictures have been taken on the spur of the moment with my iPhone (after spending a huge amount on my grown-up camera, Bailey!). I’ve not really had a good play with the photo apps though but will look these up.
Thanks Natalie. I bought myself a good camera last year but now I seem to spend longer taking shots with my iphone. It’s a new addiction.
wow they look so cool with the effects!
Many thanks. It was fun to do.
Oooh, I love the comic strip version – so much fun!
Clever isn’t it. There are lots of different versions of the comic effect. I need to have a play around.
That is really clever! I may have to go and search for more apps as those look great!
Thanks. There are so many to choose from. Hard to know where to start!
I’m torn between the first one and the radioactive one – either could be a very good start for a story…
Ooh, I like the idea of them being the start of a story. Didn’t think of that.
Lovely series of pics and the the clouds looks almost edible
A bit like white candy floss!
Love my apps and love what you’ve shown you can do with them. Great edits.
Many thanks Kirsty! It was a fun experiment.
Very clever, those look fab x
Cheers Susan! x
I love these – am off to check out taadaa and halftone
I’ve just discovered Tadaa. It’s amazing.
Who’d thought you’d be so fluffy?
Ha! Like it
Great picture, I love all the different effects
It’s amazing how a picture can be transformed with effects. Great original picture too x
Thanks Emma. Clever these photos apps aren’t they?
I am VERY excited by that last app…of for a skeet right now! Thanks for sharing!
Ooh. Are you going to start posting cartoons? Will look out for them.
I never knew so many diff apps existed! I love the original one though – so blue!
I think there are many many more. These are just for starters!
The red is very effective but I think I prefer the photo unedited. Good showcase of the editing techniques.
Yes, I like the unedited version best too. Thank you.
Wow so many clever effects. I do prefer the first one though lol
Thanks Laura. I think the first one is the nicest too.
yet more reasons as to why I need an iphone
I’ve had mine for about a year and I’m totally addicted to it, which is good and bad!
Clever, I quite like the sparkles. Beautiful things clouds.
I adore clouds. I’ve been cloud-spotting ever since I joined Instagram.
Wow love what you have done with the pictures, I really must look into some of these apps they look great x
They are great to use. You can really have some fun with them.
Wow! I’m off to get those apps NOW!
Most of them are free Julia. Look forward to seeing what you come up with!
I am a massive phone app geek but hadn’t heard of a couple of these. Am off to nose! Love the last one x
Thanks Gemma. I’m becoming a phone app geek. Not sure how we ever managed to function without them!
